Burkha - the veil

Reshma lives in a small village in a river island of the Brahmaputra.

Her father Aminul insists on her early marriage and begetting

children rather than going to school. The Mulla Gaonbura

lecherously plans to make Reshma his fourth wife.

Hafeez, an honest teacher helps Reshma to fulfil her dreams by

admitting her in his school. But Mulla Gaonbura spreads a scandal

against Hafeez leading to his suicide. A few village youths

encourage her and eventually Reshma comes out of the veil of

darkness to the light of knowledge
